about

This is a cover and re-interpretation of "Triggered!" by The Violent Inzident. The original song pokes fun at "offense" or "snowflake" culture in the current discourse. My version changed up the lyrics to demonstrate that the similarly overly-sensitive or emotional responses to issues is far from being exclusive to young people or "lefties". Rather, than conservatives and reactionaries are probably more "triggered" in general, and about less consequentially important things.

When we hear the allegation that someone is "triggered" over something, it's very rarely referencing an actual instance of a response to trauma...

It's kinda lost meaning to the point where it's just a way to make fun of someone for being emotional or passionate about...well...anything!

And ironically very often it's an accusation being made by people who are as equally "triggered", if not more so, just about different things. My theory is that they're projecting, much like Ben Lockheed-Crumpet in the music video below - reprising his appearance from Unicef Kingdom and the alternate ending of Sweet Nothings ;)
